Fish Theraphy
This treatment is unique. The reason, to pamper and relax the audience just by putting the foot in a container that contains a collection of small fish that will suck the dead skin cells on the foot.
The hot spring water softens dead skin cells, which are nibbled off by the fish.
Fish Therapy is also used to cure skin diseases, such as Psoriasis.
Fish therapy can make your feet smooth and blood circulation. No wonder if the treatment is increasingly popular in various countries ranging from Asia, Europe, and America.
But in the midst of ritual self-indulgence, health researchers Britain's Health Protection Agency (HPA) warns of the risk of infection of the feet peels are eaten by fish.
HPA said it would assess all the latest evidence about the risks of such therapy, before issuing guidelines for spa treatments. Such as written Reuteurs reported by Yahoo News, Wednesday (02/03/2011).
Now, the therapy of fish has been banned in several U.S. states for reasons of health and safety
Leech Theraphy
Leeches (European specie Hirudo Medicinalis) can consume between 5 and 15 ml of blood – 4-6 times their body weight in a single feeding. An American specie Macrobdella Decora can consume 10 times less blood than Hirudo Medicinalis. That's why only the European specie is used in medicine. Generally leech therapists use up to 10 leeches so the patient can lose up to 150 ml of blood during the treatment
Thanks to its blood-diluting and container-extending effect the leech is the ideal therapist for blood circulation disturbances.Usually unsatisfactory blood circulation is connected with diseases such as: Thrombose, cramp veins, Haemorrhoiden, cardiac infarct, impact accumulations, calcifying the containers, Tinnitus.
Positive effects could be determined with rheumatism, Arthrose, volume disk problems, pulling, bruises, muscular pains or muscle injuries.
Leeches can relieve blood pooling around a muscle or skin flap better than drugs or other treatments. They are used to keep the blood flow in muscle, skin and fat tissue that has been surgically moved from one part of your body to another. These tissues are also called flaps
In some cases, leeches do a better job by removing pooled blood than any other medical therapy.
The benefits of leech therapy are not only the amount of blood that the leech removes: It is the anti-blood clotting enzymes in their saliva that allow blood flow from the area where they have been.
Bee Venom Therapy
Bee venom has a long tradition as a folk remedy for arthritis and other degenerative diseases. As in the case of many natural folk treatments used for millennia throughout the world, bee venom contains active compounds that have therapeutic properties. Just as myriad plants have given humankind some of our most valuable pharmaceutical drugs, many of the bioactive ingredients in bee venom are a treasured, but little known, part of Nature’s pharmacy active compounds that have therapeutic properties. Just as myriad plants have given humankind some of our most valuable pharmaceutical drugs, many of the bioactive ingredients in bee venom are a treasured, but little known, part of Nature’s pharmacy.
Bee venom is administered by properly trained therapists in the form of a direct bee sting or a variant of it, or else by injection of a Venom extract.. In several studies, including research conducted by Andrew Kochan MD, bee venom therapy was successful in treating diseases which conventional pharmaceuticals can only partly help. Bee venom has potent analgesic and immuno-modulatory properties that help reduce inflammation and promote healing. It also contains several anti-inflammatory compounds including melittin and adolapin.
Medical researchers in Russia reported that bee venom helped restore the normal function of the endocrine system in human patients. Other studies reveal that melittin stimulates the endocrine system to produce cortisol, the body’s own cortisone-like, anti-inflammatory substance. Melittin is a peptide that appears to be more powerful than hydrocortisone in decreasing inflammation. It is free of the serious side effects linked with hydrocortisone. A November 2004 article published in the journal Arthritis and Rheumatism explores the mechanism of this anti-inflammatory property of Melittin. The growing list of therapeutic benefits and overall safety profile of bee venom therapy have made it one of the most remarkable complementary treatments currently available for relieving intractable pain.
Preliminary case studies suggest that bee venom may improve symptoms of:
* Rheumatoid Arthitis
* Gout
* Osteoarthritis
* Bursitis
* Tendonitis
* Post herpetic neuralgia
* Painful or keloid scars
* Multiple Sclerosis
* Fibromyalgia
* Chronic fatigue syndrome
Bee venom therapy is the most specialized form of apitherapy and requires the expertise of a skillfully trained practitioner. A course of treatment always starts with testing the patient for allergy. This provides precious information about the patient’s general relation to bee venom. Allergies are quite rare and occur in only one out of every 100 people in the general population. Bee venom treatments are given twice a week on average, and patients usually report some improvement within two to three treatments. Different protocols have been developed for specific different conditions; these protocols are then tailored to the specific patient. Often patients who receive bee venom therapy are also given a personalized nutrition plan designed to help support their immune system.
Dolphin Therapy For Autistic Children
Dolphins are one of the most intelligent animals in the world. Researchers found out that they can help people who suffer from neurological disorders, especially autistic children. Dolphin therapy is claimed to increase speech and motor skills of children with autism, however, it's still a controversial topic.
Dolphins are popular in human culture because of their friendly appearance and loveable attitude, in Greek myths, dolphins are helpers of the Minoans, messengers of Poseidon. Recently, Dr. Ken Marten at Sea Life Park in Hawaii demonstrated that dolphins can recognize themselves in mirrors, and, they are also sentient, fully conscious, with complex language of their own. Nowadays, Dolphins are among the most popular choices of animal-assisted therapy for children with autism, Down's syndrome, depression and other developmental disabilities and psychological problems. In dolphin assisted therapy (DAT) programs, kids on the Autism Spectrum could swim with dolphins in natatorium, and having lessons on land. Commonly, kids are delighted to pet and play with dolphins, but there is no scientific evidence to prove that the dolphin therapy is effective.
"It provides me with hope, more than anything," said Omar Ramos, whose son, John-Ross, has autism. "I want my child to be able to experience a lot of different things, and so it gives me a lot of hope, especially when I see him being able to do stuff in the water or with the dolphin, even with a computer."
Many children would enjoy playful interaction with a dolphin, however, dolphin therapy can not "cure" autism as other therapies. But, it can make kids happy, so it's still worth a try.
would appreciate if more research would be possible
